Graduate Degree Programs
Jubilee University offers advanced graduate degree programs that provide students with the opportunity to continue their education beyond the undergraduate level in order to understand and expand their qualifications for in their chosen field.
The university currently offers a Master’s degree in the field of Music. This degree is typically completed in two-and-a-half years of full-time study and qualifies its graduates for highly skilled positions, college level teaching, and the pursuit of advanced degrees in the field.
Master of Church Music Program - Online
The Master of Church Music program is a two-and-a-half year graduate degree online program that trains students as church musicians with a solid biblical foundation. The program provides students with the academic and practical training necessary for them to become competent and influential individuals in the field of church music ministry.
PROGRAM GOALS
In the context of Jubilee University’s mission, completion of the Master of Church Music program will enable students to:
- Demonstrate technical and artistic mastery of musical skills
- Be prepared for positions of leadership in the field of church music
- Articulate a biblical and theological understanding of the relationship between Christian faith and music
- Strategize effectively about the use of music for the cause of Christian mission
- Develop a high level of study and research skills in the field of church music
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduate students at Jubilee University must fulfill the following Master’s degree requirements for graduation *:
- Complete a total of 50 quarter credits/units: 12 units of Bible & Theology Studies, 20 units of Music and Worship Studies and 18 units of Music Major Courses.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Bible knowledge with a passing score on the written comprehensive examination in the area of Bible knowledge or required coursework in Bible and theology.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Musicianship with a passing score on the comprehensive examination in the area of Sight-singing and Dictation.
- Maintain a 3.00 (B grade point average) in all academic work.
- Receive a passing mark for all Christian Service and Chapel requirements.
- Satisfactorily complete all Juries and Recitals.
- Complete all degree requirements within the 4-year time limit.
- Satisfy all financial responsibilities to the university. List Item
* Students are subject to the Master of Church Music program requirements of the Catalog of the academic year in which they entered.
TIME LIMITS
The Master of Church Music degree online program is normally fulfilled in two (2) years of study. Except under extenuating circumstances, all requirements for the degree must be completed within four (4) years of the date of enrollment. Students who have not completed the requirements within the four-year period must petition for extension every term, up to a maximum of five (5) years from the date of enrollment, to remain in the program.
