Jubilee University is pleased to announce the completion of the first phase of restoration at historic Hickman Hall. Once contemplated for demolition, this building has now entered a new chapter through the university’s commitment to preserving the history and legacy of the former Wentworth Military Academy campus.
This first-phase project, representing an investment of more than a quarter of a million dollars, addressed the building’s most urgent needs. The entire roof was replaced, providing essential protection for the structure. Damaged or missing windows were restored or replaced where needed, helping to secure the building and prevent further exposure to the elements. In addition, deteriorated brick sections were reinforced to stabilize the exterior. These efforts have resulted in a building that is now structurally sound and prepared for the next stages of revitalization.
The completion of this phase marks a significant and encouraging step forward for Jubilee University. While much work still lies ahead, this progress has strengthened the building’s integrity and created a solid foundation for future restoration work. We are deeply grateful for the prayers, partnership, and generous support that made this achievement possible. With hope and confidence, Jubilee University will continue preserving the past while building toward a vibrant future for generations to come.
